Press Bio
Alan Orloff has published ten books and more than 40 short stories in numerous anthologies and magazines. His debut mystery, Diamonds for the Dead, was nominated for an Agatha Award, and his novel, Pray for the Innocent, won a Thriller Award for Best Ebook Original. His P.I. thriller, I Know Where You Sleep, was a finalist for the Shamus Award, and his YA thriller, I Play One On TV, won both the Agatha Award and Anthony Award for Best YA Novel.
His story, “Rent Due” won the Thriller Award for Best Short Story, and “Dying in Dokesville” won a Derringer Award. “Rule Number One” was selected for the Best American Mystery Stories anthology, edited by Louise Penny.
He loves cake and arugula, but not together. Never together. He now lives in South Florida, where the examples of hijinks are endless.
Before launching into a career as an author, he worked on nuclear submarines, facilitated technology transfer from the Star Wars program, and learned how to stack washing machines three high in a warehouse with a forklift.
Now he writes fiction.
